A cold front moves off the coast by early afternoon, but before it does it brings showers and a few thunderstorms to eastern New England this morning.
Behind the front it turns windy with cooler temperatures moving into western sections during the day and eastern sections at night. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph and gusts over 40 mph are forecast in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey and southern New England.
Scattered showers are expected behind the front in western and northern New York and northern New England throughout the day.
High temperatures in southern New England and southeastern New York should reach the lower to middle 80s. In New Jersey, southeastern Pennsylvania, Delaware, eastern Maryland and Virginia high temperatures should reach the middle 80s to lower 90s.
From northern New England southwest to western Pennsylvania high temperatures should only reach the 60s to very low 70s.
